Possible Scenarios for Theoretical Specializations in Saudi Universities in the Light of 'Vision 2030'

The current study aims to explore the reality of theoretical specializations in Saudi universities and to investigate the most important challenges facing theoretical specializations in Saudi universities. Moreover, the study aims to build in possible scenarios for theoretical specializations in Saudi universities under the vision of 2030. To achieve these goals, the researcher has used the descriptive, analytical, and deductive approach. The study sample includes three oldest universities in Saudi Arabia: King Saud University, the Islamic University, and King Abdulaziz University.
The study presented three possible scenarios for theoretical specializations in Saudi universities under Vision 2030: the possible scenario, the likely scenario, and the standard scenario. The study has recommended the amalgamation of these scenarios especially the first and the second in which the Saudi universities are developed. Moreover, to get benefit of the suggested recommendation mentioned in the first scenario. This study introduces new academic programmes that are appropriate with what has been stated in the second scenario, so that the flaws of the theoretical specializations must be avoided. Moreover, to face the challenges and implementing the Kingdom’s vision 2030.
