The Level of Islamic Education and Social Studies Teachers’ Practice of their Roles in Citizenship Development Values among their Students

The study aimed to identify the level of practice of teachers of Islamic education and social studies and their role in developing the values of citizenship among their students. The researchers used the descriptive survey method. To achieve the goal of the study, they prepared a questionnaire consisting of (27) items distributed over three dimensions (the cognitive dimension, the skills dimension, and the emotional dimension). After ensuring the validity and reliability of the tool, it was applied to the sample of the study, which consisted of (56) male and female teachers of Islamic education and social studies at basic education in Ma’rib City. The study concluded that the level of practice of teachers of Islamic education and social studies to their role in developing the values of citizenship among their students was at a high percentage in all dimensions. The study also found that there were no statistically significant differences between the level of practice of teachers of Islamic education and social studies to their role in developing the values of citizenship among their students regarding the gender variable (males, females). It also found that there are statistically significant differences among the participants according to the specialization variable in favour of social studies. The study concluded with a set of recommendations and suggestions.Downloads
