Abstract

The present study aims to verify the effectiveness of a proposed program of professional intervention for the service of the individual in promoting the intellectual security of Saudi scholarship students. Thus, the author adopted the quasi-experimental approach and studied a sample of (60) Saudi scholarship students in London distributed to two equal groups, i.e., experimental and control, each including (30) students. The study tools were The intellectual security scale and the proposed program (developed by the author). After conducting the statistical analyses, the study concluded that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups on the intellectual security scale in the post-test in favor of the experimental group. There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group members in the pre-test and post-test on the intellectual security scale in favor of the post-test. The proposed program of professional intervention for the service of the individual had a significant effect on promoting the intellectual security of the experimental group members. Moreover, there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of male and female members of the experimental group in the post-test of the intellectual security on the religious domain, the national domain, and the social domain. In contrast, there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of male and female members of the experimental group in the post-test of the intellectual security on the cultural domain, the psychological domain, and the total score in favor of females. There were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group members in the post-test and follow-up test on the intellectual security scale. The study recommended activating the role of cultural missions in promoting the intellectual security of scholarship students and holding some training courses and workshops to promote the intellectual security of scholarship students during the scholarship period.
