Developing Multimedia Software to Develop Computer Skills in Communications and Business among Eleventh Grade Students in the Sultanate of Oman

The aim of the current research is to develop computer skills in communication and business among eleventh grade students in the Sultanate of Oman, through the development of multimedia software and revealing its effectiveness in the development of cognitive and performance aspects. To verify this, the researcher has prepared the following research tools: two data collection tools, a questionnaire to determine the list of skills of using multimedia software to be developed among eleventh grade students, a questionnaire to determine the list of criteria for developing multimedia software, two tools for measuring the cognitive and performance aspects, represented by: Achievement Test, performance evaluation note card. The descriptive research method was used to review the literature and studies on the research topic, and the experimental method was used to verify the effectiveness of multimedia software in developing computer skills in communication and business among eleventh grade students at Al-Tafail bin Amr school for boys (10-12), South Al-Batinah Directorate. The researcher has developed multimedia software according to the general model (ADDIE) of educational design, and the research found that there are statistically significant differences at the level of (≤ 0.05) between the average grades of the students of the research sample in the pre-and post-application of research tools (Achievement Test, note card) in favor of the post-application in the development of computer skills in communication and business among eleventh grade students.Downloads
