Islamic Heritage Greatness and Problems of Understanding, Inference, and Application

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the problems of Islamic heritage that happened between the theoretical and the practical. It also explains the reason for the inflation of heritage versus the decline of Islamic civilization in modern times. The study aims at analyzing and describing the comprehension and inference approaches that participated in creating the gap between science and application especially among the scholars of the fundamentalists and theologians. This is mainly due to their wrong utilizing of language in which the Quran was revealed through and the Sunna dealt with. The study aims to confirm the feature of clarity in the texts of the Quran and Sunna, emphasized by the good deeds of righteous ancestors. The negligence of their method was the reason for the expansion of theological studies and doctrines which contributed to widening the gap between the theoretical and the practical; especially what is done by Murji'ah. This happened because of multiple internal and external political factors such as imitating the way of the Jews and Christians. As a result, it is a must to develop the plans of reform and revival of creating correct curricula for Islamic studies and organizing specialized seminars and conferences.
