The current study aimed at recognizing the life skills that are included within the English language syllabus at the first secondary in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The life skills were represented in social skills. mental skills, and cultural skills. To achieve the aims of the study, the researchers adopted the descriptive approach that is relevant to content analysis. The population and sample of the study were represented in the English language book for first secondary in the school in the second semester at year 1444 , which comprise both the student's book and the activity book in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The researchers designed a card as a tool for content analysis that included three main areas containing (22) criteria. The study concluded many results as follows: The availability of social skills and mental skills in the English language book of the first secondary in a high level, whereas the cultural skills were available in the English language book of first secondary in a low level. Moreover, the social skills and mental skills were both ranked first according to Holsti equation (0.875), and followed them cultural skills according to Holsti equation (0.833333). In the light of what was concluded by the study, several recommendations were introduced including: The necessity of caring for including life skills within the English language book of the first secondary according to the age stage, and considering balance in including (social skills, mental skills, and cultural skills) within the English language book of the first secondary.Downloads
