The study aimed to identify the impact of medical waste on human and environment in Taiz governorate, Republic of Yemen. The study also sought to identify how to collect, transport and dispose of these wastes in safe ways. The study relied on the use of descriptive and analytical methods as well as the environmental approach. Information, data and facts from health institutions to come up with a solution to this problem.
The study concluded that there is no integrated system for medical waste management that includes the process of sorting and separation from the source, collection and transport, and then treatment by incineration or incineration or any other appropriate method, in addition to the lack of public awareness among workers or the general public about the seriousness of this waste and the risk of disposal The study presented a number of recommendations, the most important of which are: Obligation of medical staff and nurses in health institutions, clinics, laboratories, laboratories, etc. What program was the establishment of an integrated system for the management of medical waste and health institutions in Taiz mode, helps to safe disposal of these wastes.
