Abstract

This study aimed to conduct a critical analysis of the results of ChatGPT artificial intelligence model applications in physics education from the perspective of secondary school physics teachers; This is to enhance the quality of AI-based learning experiences and promote the effective integration of technology into physics classes. This is done by analyzing the responses generated by ChatGPT on the topics of forces in one dimension and forces in two dimensions from the first secondary physics curriculum and evaluating the accuracy, consistency and value of the content produced. The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach with regard to the theoretical framework, which addresses the literature, research and studies that dealt with the critical analysis of the outputs of ChatGPT artificial intelligence model applications on physics education. As for the applied aspect, the self-study approach was used to analyze the responses generated by ChatGPT on the topics of forces in one dimension and forces in two dimensions from the first secondary physics curriculum and to evaluate the accuracy, consistency and value of the content produced from the point of view of (35) physics teachers in addition to a questionnaire distributed to them via the Internet. The statistical analytical approach was also used to describe the results reached, analyze them and link them to the causes. The results showed that ChatGPT can provide very important benefits such as explanation, writing and solving questions, writing scenarios, designing experiments and preparing lesson plans for teachers. In addition, the restrictions were ChatGPT is particularly good at solving physics problems because it is a language model whose capabilities are primarily focused on understanding and generating human language, and is not specifically designed or intended to solve physics problems. As for conceptual questions, the answers were similar to common misconceptions among students. The study showed that ChatGPT can provide significant benefits to students and teachers in physics education when used correctly, by accurately and clearly identifying the desired expression.
