The degree of practices of the deans of the faculties of Sana'a University for strategic thinking patterns

The research aimed at identifying the degree of practicing the strategic thinking patterns by the deans of faculties at Sana’a University from the point of view of teaching staff. The descriptive survey approach was used; depending on a questionnaire, consisted of (28) items distributed over four dimensions of strategic thinking patterns (holistic, abstract, diagnostic and planning). The sample size was (139) individuals. The research showed the following results: The practices degree of the strategic thinking patterns by the faculties' deans at Sana'a University was medium as seen by the sample, whether at the level of the tool as a whole or at the level of practicing each pattern of strategic thinking. The results also showed that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the estimates averages of the sample for the practicing degree of strategic thinking patterns due to the variables (type of faculty, academic degree, and years of experience). Based on the results, the researchers presented a number of recommendations, The most prominent is the necessity of raising the level of strategic thinking practice in its four dimensions (holistic, abstract, diagnostic, and planning) among the academic leaders at Sana’a University, in particular the deans of faculties, through creating a center for training and developing strategic thinking patterns for the university’s administrative and academic cadres.Downloads
