Diligence in interpreting the Holy Quran Its concept - its ruling - its controls

Abstract

This study aims to know what is meant by interpretation, and to explain the stages of interpretation of the Holy Quran, and how to interpret the Quran in the era of the Companions and Followers - may Allah be pleased with them - as the study aims to know the methods of interpretation, and to explain the meaning of ijtihad, its ruling, and its controls. The study reached several results, the most important of which are the following: 1- The Companions - may Allah be pleased with them - did not abandon ijtihad completely, as some of them refrained from expressing their opinion, and some of them exerted ijtihad and used their minds in interpretation like Ibn Abbas - may Allah be pleased with them - and this, if it indicates anything, indicates the legitimacy of ijtihad for those who are qualified for it. 2- Ijtihad is permissible and legitimate if the interpreter is committed to the legal controls decided by scholars, and it is not permissible if he violates these controls. 3- The special methods are originally within the method of interpretation by opinion, but the large number of writings on them made them independent and special studies were devoted to them. 4- The study recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are: It recommended that researchers in legal studies conduct more studies on interpretive methods; to know how scholars and interpreters reached this huge output of interpreting the Book of God Almighty, as the study recommended more research in the science of the principles of interpretation, which is the first basis of interpretation, and to know the controls of interpretation in each of its methods.
