The study aims to identify the effect of using the educational podcast in teaching the oral communication and listening unit on developing the skills of applying the stages of design thinking represented by the successive stages (sympathy, then identifying the problem, then generating ideas, then the prototype, then testing) among secondary school students in Riyadh. The Experimental Design approach based on the Quasi Experimental Design with one group and two pre and post measurements has been used in answering the study questions. The population of the current study consists of all the female students of the third year of secondary school who are studying in the secondary stage in the Riyadh region for the year 1443. Their number is approximately 42,876 students. The sample used in this study is a random cluster sample including 13 students. Design thinking, and its psychometric efficiency was verified. The Wilcoxon test has been used as a non-parametric test. This is to reveal the significance of the differences between the mean ranks of the scores of the related groups in the case of small groups, in revealing the significance of the differences between the mean scores of the students of the study group in the pre and post applications of the observation card for the skills of applying design thinking stages. The study has found: There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance 0.01 between the average grades of the students of the study group in the pre and post applications of the observation card for the skills of applying the stages of design thinking in relation to the aforementioned application skills and the differences in favour of the post application, where the value of Z was greater than 2.58. The effect size is significant as the eta-square value was greater than 0.14 for the overall score and sub-skills. Therefore, the researcher has recommended: designing various software that includes activating the educational podcast and using it in the teaching and learning processes for the various stages of education, preparing educational guidebooks to help teachers design them, and including the educational podcast in the evaluation process, whether for male and female teachers or for male and female students.
