Rules and Procedures of Publication in the Journal:
First: Publication Rules:
The Journal of Humanities and Educational Sciences publishes researches that are submitted to it according to the following rules:
1- The research should be original and according to the standards of scientific researches generally accepted in writing scientific research.
2-The number of search pages should not be more than (25) pages, with total number of (8000) words, including Arabic and English abstracts, references, figures, and appendices.
3-The research should be written in (Traditional Arabic) for Arabic, and (Times New Roman) for English, font size (13) on paper size (A4), and the main headings are font size (15) bold and sub-headings should be (14) bold. The margins Font size should be (11), the margins of the page are (2.5) cm on all sides of the page, and the size of the paper is (17 cm) in width and (25 cm) in height.
4- The research should be proof-read by the researcher or any proof-reader. The research layout should be according to the terms and template of the journal and be well-prepared by the researcher.
5- Tables, graphics and figures should be apt to the size of the magazine’s page with footnotes and written in (Traditional Arabic) font, size (11) in bold, and written in a clear font with an explanation of its contents within the text.
6- The journal does not follow a single model in writing the research report due to the multiple diversity in the nature of scientific researches in terms of quantity and quality. Nevertheless, the research often consists of one of the following parts:
a) Humanities, Model (1):
Title, Abstract, Introduction, The Problem of the study, Aims of the study, Significance of the Study, Limitation of the Study, Literature Review, Hypotheses, Research Design (Chapter Scheme: Chapter One, Chapter One: Subheading One .., Chapter Two…. etc.), Discussion, Findings, Conclusion and References.
b) Humanities, Model (2):
Tittle, Abstract, Introduction, Research Problem and Questions, Research Objectives, Significance of the Study, Limitation of the Study, Literature Review, Research Hypotheses, Research Design (Methodology, Population, Sample, Variables, Data Collection Tools, Statistical Analysis), Discussion and Findings, Recommendations, References.
7- Research should include these elements:
- Introduction includes a background on the topic of the research, significance of the study, literature review and theoretical background amalgamated together without broader titles.
- Research Problem, Objectives of the Study, Questions of the Study and Hypotheses.
- Significance of the Study, limitation and Terminology.
- Research Procedures include research approach, population, sampling, tools of collecting data, research validity and procedures and data analysis.
- Research findings include data presentation, analysis, discussion, interpretation, report writing. In case of tabulating data, tables should be put inside the text and it is preferred not re-mention the numerical data of the tables. It is worthy to refer to the tables or figures. Moreover, the results should be discussed in details with the help of related references.
- Conclusion should be written including findings and recommendations.
- A list of Arabic and foreign references.
References Documentation Procedures:
8- References documentation procedures should follow the rules of the American Psychological Association (APA 6 or 7).
9- Holy Quran reference procedures: If the Holy Quran is one of the references, it should put at the very beginning of the list of the references without any commitments of the rules of reference procedures; only the name of the Surah and the number of the aiya (verse). The Arabic style of the aiya (verse) should be in the Othmani script Style of writing the Holy Quran.
10- The Prophetic Hadiths reference procedures: The hadith in-text reference should be as [Name of Hadith book, chapter number/ page number: Hadith number] if any. For example: Sahih Al Bukhari [:432/122/].
11- In-text referencing should be as this (author's last Name, year, (page number). For example: (Crstin, 2013, 12) or (Al-Sanea, 2009, 20). This is referred to in detail in the list of references. It is documented in the alphabetical order of the author's last name, so that the Arabic references are mentioned at first, then the foreign references, without numbering.
a) Regarding a book: the reference begins with mentioning the author’s last name, the rest of the full name, (year of publication), the title of the book in bold, followed by the edition number, the publishing house and the country of publication. For example:
Al-Sanea, Mohamed Ibrahim, (2009). Environmental Education for University Students. 4th Edition, Abadi Center for Studies, Publishing and Distribution: Sana'a, Yemen.
b) Periodicals: This reference starts with the last name of the author, the rest of the name in full, (year of publication), Title, the name of the journal in bold, the place publication, the volume number, the issue number, the page numbers.
Example:
Al-Maamari, Suleiman Abdo Ahmed (2018). The Level of Acquisition of Life Skills by Students of the Fourth Level in the College of Education in Soil and Its Relationship to the Degree of Their Practice during Field Training. Journal of Educational and Psychological Sciences, College of Education, University of Bahrain, 19 (3), pp. 399-428.
c) Online Sources: They are referred to only in the footnotes, not in-text or in the list of references and should include the URL and the date of the retrieval.
12- In-text references should be in accordance with the list of references at the end.
13- The researcher, in case research is accepted for publication, is obliged to pay the review and publication fees as decided by the journal either from Yemen or from outside Yemen.
14- The journal has the right to make any changes in rephrasing or reordering the text according to the requirements of publication, provided that these changes do not affect the content of the text.
15- The journal refuses the researches that violate the rules and instructions of publication.
16- In case of final approval for publication, all copyrights automatically return to the "Journal of Humanities and Educational Sciences" at Taiz University, Al-Turbah Branch, Yemen.
17- Any published research in this journal expresses the point of view of the researchers themselves only.
18- Publishing requests should be submitted through the journal's website or through the journal's email hesjedu@gmail.com in (word).
Second: Publication Procedures:
1- The researcher sends a (word office) copy of his research and a pdf copy that includes (researcher(s) name, academic degree, major, title, department, college, university, country, and email) compatible with the Word program of recent versions of Windows.
2- Two abstracts of the research, in Arabic and in English, should be attached within the length of (200) words each on a separate page, with (3-5) keywords related to the research. Moreover, the research cover page should include the title of the research, the academic title, the institution, country, department, major, phone no. and email.
3- The editorial board of the journal conducts the initial evaluation of the research. Then, it is sent to expert reviewers in the field of specialization. The journal is obliged to inform the researcher of the final decision regarding approval or disapproval of publication. The researcher undertakes to make any alterations that the reviewers may demand for publishing the research in the journal. The journal is not obliged to give back the text of the unaccepted researches; only the justification of research disapproval of publication is sent to the researcher.
4- The researcher must submit a copy of the appendices or research tools if they are not included in the text of the research. The appendices are not published but attached for the purposes of reviewing.
5- In the case of any feedback from the reviewers, this feedback is sent to the researcher to make the necessary alterations accordingly, provided that the research should be sent back to the journal after doing the alterations.
6- The researcher must submit a written undertaken confirming that the research has not been published, in whole or in part, in paper or electronic form. Besides, it is not submitted to any other journal at the same time by other means of publication.
