The aim of the current research is to identify the effect of the memory power strategy on the achievement and scientific alertness of fifth grade female students in science. To achieve the goal of the research, the following two zero hypotheses were formulated: - There is no statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group students who studied according to the memory power strategy and the average scores of the control group students who studied according to the (usual method) in the achievement test. - There is no statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group students who studied according to the memory power strategy and the average scores of the control group students who studied according to the (usual method) in the scientific vigilance scale. The researcher adopted the experimental design with partial control for the two groups (experimental and control), and (Al-Rawafid Elementary School for Girls) was intentionally chosen to represent the research sample, with (68) students divided into two groups (experimental and control), represented by divisions (A - B), and by (34) students. For the experimental group (a) which was studied according to the memory power strategy and (34) students of the group (b) the control which was studied according to the usual method, equivalence was conducted in each of the previous achievement, previous information, intelligence and scientific vigilance scale, and after preparing the research requirements it was applied. The experiment started from 10/12/2022 and extended until 1/9/2023, with three lessons per week for each group. Prepare an achievement test consisting of (30) items and of the multiple-choice type. Find its validity, stability, difficulty coefficient, discrimination power, and the effectiveness of wrong alternatives. It was applied to the two research groups. On Wednesday 4/1/2023, the scientific vigilance scale was prepared, which included (32) items. Its validity and reliability were verified and applied to the research sample on Thursday 5/1/2023. The results showed: the superiority of the students of the experimental group who studied according to the memory power strategy over the students of the control group who studied according to the usual method in the achievement test and scientific vigilance scale. Accordingly, it presented a number of conclusions, recommendations and proposals.Downloads
