Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the difficulties of mathematics learning in the primary education stage in Aden Governorate from the students' viewpoint by their estimates about the four areas of difficulties: school textbook, student, teacher, learning environment. To achieve that, the study sought to answer the stated questions. The sample of the study consisted of (620) male and female students. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach and a students' questionnaire which consisted of (39) items after checking its validity and reliability. The findings of the study show the following: 1- The means of the students' estimates about the difficulties of mathematics learning in general is (3.07) which is a medium degree. 2- There are no statistically significant differences at a level (α ≤ 0.05) due to the effect of the sex variable. 3- There are statistically significant differences at a level (α ≤ 0.05) due to the effect of the achievement variable. The differences come in favor of the group of low achievement.
