Citizenship Values for Kindergarten Children in Taiz Governorate

Abstract

The study aims at identifying the level of some citizenship values for kindergarten children in Taiz governorate as well as recognizing the significance of differences in the level of citizenship. values according to the gender variable (male, female) in Taiz governorate The research relied on the descriptive method, and the research community consisted of all kindergarten children whose ages ranged from (4-6) years and enrolling in public and private kindergartens in Taiz Governorate for the academic year (2020-2021). The number of individuals sampled in the research was (120) boys and girls respectively. To be more specific, the number of (60) boys and (60) girls were chosen randomly. Driven by the commitment to achieve the research objectives, the researcher used the colored Citizenship Values Scale (prepared by the researcher), and extracted the psychometric characteristics of the scale of validity and reliability, and found that it has a high degree of validity and reliability. The data has been processed using the (ness) package for social sciences, and the results showed that the level of citizenship values among kindergarten children is medium, and there are no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the degrees of males and females in the values of citizenship and democracy, belonging, tolerance, cooperation) and in the total score In the light of the results of the research, the researcher came out with a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the need for concerned authority of the kindergarten stage, especially the planners of the kindergarten programs in the Ministry of Education, to employ the values of citizenship in the form of educational programs are presented within the kindergarten programs.
