The Interplay of Authenticity and Modernity in Saudi Women’s Memory in the Book: (My Mother Sheikha… A Nation’s Memory)

Abstract

This research documents the historical and social transformation of Saudi Arabia through the biography of "Ommy Sheikha," tracing the evolution from the "era of hardship" in Al-Dhabiah to the "era of empowerment" in Al-Saih and Al-Kharj. The study employs a Thematic Approach to analyze the core themes that shaped the national identity, highlighting the Saudi woman's role as an economic leader and crisis manager (Economy of Resilience). By tracking major thematic shifts, the research monitors the transition from traditional living in mud houses to institutional modernity, culminating in the realization of Saudi Vision 2030. The significance of this study lies in revealing the links between the community's emotional memory and the state's sovereign identity, emphasizing solidarity and belonging as steadfast pillars in the face of modernization.
