This research discusses Imam Muhammad al-Amin al-Shanqiti’s resources in his tafsir Aḍwā’ al-Bayān regarding the sciences of the Qur’an and their impact on his interpretation, using an inductive, analytical study. It aims to: identify the most prominent resources al-Shanqiti relied upon in the sciences of the Qur’an, whether independent works or scattered within books of tafsir and usul; analyze how al-Shanqiti employed Qur’anic sciences in his exegesis; demonstrate the influence of these resources on his interpretive preferences and scholarly choices; and highlight the scientific value of Aḍwā’ al-Bayān in light of its reliance on Qur’anic sciences. The study employed inductive, analytical, and descriptive methodologies, and concluded that Muhammad al-Amin al-Shanqiti’s resources in Qur’anic sciences, as reflected in Aḍwā’ al-Bayān fi Iyāḍ al-Qur’ān bi’l-Qur’ān, were diverse, encompassing works of tafsir, Qur’anic sciences, and usul al-fiqh, with conscious utilization based on investigation and scholarly weighting. The influence of these resources is evident in his methodology grounded in interpreting the Qur’an by the Qur’an, resolving issues of abrogation and reasons for revelation, and combining authentic transmission with precise usul-based reasoning. Graduate students are recommended to pay special attention to Aḍwā’ al-Bayān and analyze its methodology.Downloads
