Abstract

     The aesthetic origins of the Arabic poetic text adopted by the issue of the Vertical Poetry, and the ancient critical interactions that took place between poets and critics, have made the Vertical Poetry a central issue from which most of the issues of ancient criticism branch. This issue received the attention of Arab critics in the ancient and modern eras, as it constituted a broad cultural and critical movement. The interchangeability of the concept and the intentionality of the images of this movement.The aim of this study is to surround this movement with induction, description, and criticism to reveal the nature of the concept, and to indicate its trends.The research will try through these sections to reveal the phrase "Vertical Poetry" between the term and the concept, then it will reveal the significance of the concept in the critical heritage, and the semantic problems that it encountered in modern literary criticism.
