This study aims at developing a proposed programme to develop the awareness of positive behaviour patterns in driving cars among university students from the perspective of social service. The researcher has followed the survey and descriptive approach. The sample of the study consists of 603 female students. The tool of data collection is an online questionnaire. The study has concluded that the highest percentage of responses is the driving under the influence of drowsiness and fatigue, reaching (73.5%). Moreover, changing the direction of driving without using traffic signals is the most negative effect due to the wrong behavioural patterns of driving, whereas adjusting the mirror to obtain a clearer vision and checking it periodically is the highest positive behavioural pattern reaching (60%). The adherence to the specified speed, and high-speed driving upon the open roads reaches (51.7%). The awareness of safety measures and commitments for children such as seats designed for them rather than putting them in the front seat of the driver has the highest response rate of (87.7%). This is due to the role of the social worker to raise the awareness of positive behaviour patterns while driving cars from the perspective of social service. According to the results of the study, the researcher recommends to enhance the level of professional preparation of the social worker to be more linked with the real practice in the field of traffic awareness and safety through training programmes. This is can done through formulating awareness committees at universities and activating their efforts as possible and by possible means.Downloads
