Abstract

The aim of this research paper is to present a proposed model that includes an integrated procedural framework for practicing reflection during the counseling process involving both the counselor and the client. The objective is to monitor and evaluate their interaction and enhance it to achieve the desired goals. This is accomplished using specific tools and models to facilitate these practices based on clear theoretical backgrounds. The model is introduced by providing a theoretical overview of the concepts of contemplative practices, their importance, and their utilization in the training of psychological counselors and other professions. Several well-known theoretical models of contemplative practices were reviewed and the benefits of contemplative practices for both the counselor and the client were also discussed, whether on a personal or professional level. Additionally, some limitations and obstacles to contemplative practices were examined.
