Abstract

The current study aimed to find out the relationship between emotional creativity and cognitive flexibility in academic adjustment among Qassim University students. The study also aimed to reveal and identify the possibility of predicting academic adjustment through cognitive flexibility and emotional innovation among Qassim University students. To achieve the objectives of the study, the Emotional Creativity Scale, prepared by Averill (1999) and Afifi’s Arabization (2016), the Cognitive Flexibility Scale prepared by Dennis and Vandr (2010), and the Academic Adjustment Scale, prepared by Hasban and Al-Rabie (2021), were used on a sample. A basic study consisting of (600) students from Qassim University, using the descriptive approach. The results resulted in the presence of highly statistically significant differences between the hypothesized average in emotional creativity among Qassim University students and the experimental average, and that there are large and statistically significant differences between the hypothesized average in Cognitive flexibility among Qassim University students and the experimental average. There are statistically significant differences between the hypothesized average in academic compatibility among Qassim University students and the experimental average. Results resulted in a strong relationship between emotional creativity and academic compatibility. The results indicate that Qassim University students have a level Good emotional creativity, cognitive flexibility, and academic compatibility.
