Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of school leaders practice in Ajloun governorate for participatory leadership, and identify its obstacles, and develop proposals for its development From the teachers ’point of view, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, the study sample reached (226) teachers, and to answer the study questions, the researcher developed the tool to measure the areas of the study, validation and reliability were verified, and the study found in its results that the degree of school leaders practice in Ajloun for participatory leadership is significant. It also revealed that there are no statistically significant differences in the degree of school leaders practicing participatory leadership attributable to the following variables (gender, school level, teaching experience), and the results showed that the degree of barriers to participatory leadership for school leaders in Ajloun Governorate came medium, and that most of the barriers to participatory leadership from the point of view Teachers: The large number of teaching and administrative tasks and burdens imposed on teachers, and the weakness of school leaders ’conviction of the usefulness of teachers’ participation in decision-making, and that the most frequent suggestions of the study sample to develop participatory leadership were: Spreading a culture of participatory leadership for leaders Schools in Ajloun, and held training programs develop participatory leadership methods for school leaders, the study recommended the need to increase the rates of the involvement of teachers in all administrative processes in the schools of Ajloun.
