Printmaking Techniques as an Experimental Approach for Making Creative Artworks Inspired by Legends

Abstract

This study aims to conduct more experimentation in the field of artistic printing to discover new experimental approaches through color, material and printing technique for producing innovative printing works inspired by the myths of birds through studying the most important myths of birds around the world with analyzing some legendary birds that are a source of fertile inspiration due to the diversity of its symbols and connotations, and being benefited from that to enhance aspect of innovation. The study applies the descriptive and analytical approach of myths and artworks, and the experimental approach in color, material, and technology for discovering experimental approaches related to artistic printing techniques, where one of the most important findings of the study is that experimentation in the field of artistic printing produces innovative artworks. Also, being inspired from myths can be a source for producing innovative printing works that enrich the experimental approaches of artistic printing that enhance track of artistic printing at the visual arts department, the College of Art and Design at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
