Abstract

The study is designed to identify a proposed conception for the development of soft skills among English language teachers in the light of sustainable professional development as well as to evaluate the impact of sustainable professional development on English language teachers depending on the international and local experiences as a reference framework in order to create a proposed conception for the development of soft skills among English language teachers in the light of sustainable professional development. The literature review well used with the purpose of determining a list of the English language teacher’s soft skills, in addition to use it in the questionnaire that designed to serve the aim of the study. Note that the validity and reliability of the starting point will be examined using the SPSS statistical methods, beside that the study will apply the analytical-descriptive approach to a random sample of English language teachers. The evaluation findings are expected to be about the teachers' soft skills and to what extent they are using and employing them, beside their differences in using them; furthermore, the study will provide a proposed conception for the development of soft skills among English language teachers in the light of sustainable professional development, including the fundamentals and the alternatives, the overall objectives, the content, and the evaluation and writing strategies with its arbitration and putting it into an applicable form, in order to cope with modern educational perceptions in line with the actual interests and needs of English language teachers on the one hand, and with the circumstances, culture, and nature of Saudi Arabian society on the other The paper will provide several suggestions and recommendations.
